Tomorrow I am attending the EdTech Team Sydney Summit featuring Google for Education. It celebrates 12 months since I got the GAFE bug at the Brisbane Summit. Since then I have been caught hook, line and sinker. Google Apps for Education has transformed my classroom with a distinctive change in pedagogy. It was baby steps at first and then last year I also attended the Melbourne Summit, again a brilliant experience, the steps got bigger and faster.
At the Sydney Summit tomorrow, I am going to attend sessions with people that I have not heard before. This will be difficult as I do have my favourite EdTech presenters [bordering on stalking] but I do believe that we have a lot to offer each other and I need to ensure that I hear the tips and tricks from as many people as possible. I have always taken something away from every session I have attended, no matter how large or small so I am willing to be risky and attend sessions of people of have not been to before.
Some colleagues and friends have mentioned 'are you going to another' and its a simple yes. Each Summit is always different....maybe a reflection on the continuing change in technology. I hope one day to attend an overseas Summit too. Attending the Summit also re-energises my passion for sharing with my colleagues as we continue to meet every Wednesday afterschool. I am sure I will have so much more to show and teach.
So in parting today....I am very excited by +Wes Warner twittering today!
