I have no idea where the last term went. The Acting Deputy position for the term shifted my focus and I did have less time for a few I the things that I do love to do in the area of curriculum, one being this blog. While I was engaged in some different responsibilities I was still moving ahead with my love of Google Apps for Education and the embedding of Technology in the Classroom. The positive now is moving back to my role meaning I will be able to continue with my blog which I find beneficial for two reasons, to share and to reflect.
Some great experiences have been gained specifically with Google Forms this term. Moving the use of them outside of the classroom and using them to assist in making some school administrative tasks more efficient. I will discuss this more in a separate blog soon. Also, I have had two wonderful opportunities to showcase how Google Apps for Education and Chromebooks are developing in our school. The presentations were to my colleagues from other schools in the Diocese. I find these presentations as another opportunity to reflect and evaluate how things are going in our school. The biggest challenge was condensing all the information into a one hour presentation. They were great experiences and I am looking forward to being able to do more presentations and sharing my love and passion for Technology in the Classroom.
There is a bit of sadness at the moment knowing the EdTechTeam Queensland Summit featuring Google for Education is in full swing on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and due to a knee op I am unable to be there. These summits are amazing opportunities for Professional Development with Google in Education. However, I am keeping a close on eye on what is happening with the brilliant twittering #gafesummit that attendees are engaging in. I am thrilled that two of my colleagues are in attendance and look forward to them coming back and sharing their experiences at our Google Staff Sessions.
